Biography
Born in a nomad family. In 1935-1945 he was brought up in an orphanage in the Alma-Ata region. In 1945 he entered the Faculty of History of the Central Asian State University in Tashkent . In 1950 he graduated from the university with a degree in historian-archaeologist.
Until the end of his life, he worked at the Ch. C. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology . In 1957-1960 he led the Karatau Paleolithic detachment. Found a number of Paleolithic sites . He suggested that South Kazakhstan was one of the centers of settlement of ancient people. In 1958 he defended his thesis on "Late Paleolithic site of Kostenki-II." He was one of the authors of the publication "History of the Kazakh SSR from ancient times to the present day" (section "Stone Age").
