Fanning Springs is 10.1 km², of which land is 9.8 km², and open water is 0.3 km². According to 2015 estimates, 985 people lived in the city. Through the Fanning Springs passes the "state trail" Nature Coast State Trail , running along an abandoned railway [1] . To the south of the city is the State Park [2] [3] . The River flows through Fanning Springs. The city has a historical park, broken down on the site of a fort built here in 1838 to repel Indian attacks during the Seminole Wars [4] .
