Kurt Bertsch ( German: Kurt Bertsch ) is a Swiss footballer who played as a striker . He played for the teams St. Gallen , Basel , Saint-Etienne and Grasshopper .

Career
Kurt Burch began his football career at the St. Gallen Club. In the 1942/43 season, he scored 11 goals in the Swiss Championship , becoming the top scorer of his team [1] . Since 1943, Birch played for Basel , distinguishing himself in three seasons by 19 goals in 51 championship matches. In 1944, he and the team reached the final of the country's cup , in which they lost to Lausanne 3-0 [2] .
In 1946, the striker moved to the French club Saint Etienne . In the championship of France, Kurt spent only two matches - against Le Havre and Bordeaux [3] . In 1947 he returned to St. Gallen, and after two seasons he moved to Grasshopper . In the 1950/51 season, Birch scored 12 goals in the second division of Switzerland and helped the team enter the first division [4] .
In October 1943, Birch played for the Swiss national team in an unofficial friendly match against the Ticino national team [5] .
