Built on the basis of the Eurostar-E3000 space platform by Airbus Defense and Space , the contract was signed in February 2014 [1] . The launch mass of the satellite is 5,281.7 kg. Power output - 13 kW . It will use a propulsion system using two-component chemical fuel to achieve a standing point in a geostationary orbit and electric (plasma) engines to maintain position and maneuver. The expected life of the satellite is 15 years [2] .

The satellite has 55 Ku-band transponders [3] [4] .

The satellite will be located at an orbital position 67 ° west and is intended to replace the satellites and , which were launched in 1997 and 1999, respectively, and are nearing the end of their life [3] [5] .

On August 30, 2016, an agreement was announced between SES and SpaceX to launch the SES-10 satellite with a Falcon 9 launch vehicle with a reusable first stage, which returned to the Of Course I Still Love You floating platform in April 2016, after launch Dragon cargo ship as part of the SpaceX CRS-8 supply mission [6] [5] [7] . The launch was planned for November 2016, but was delayed due to the Falcon 9 accident in September.

On January 16, 2017, the satellite was delivered from Toulouse ( France ) to Cape Canaveral in preparation for launch [4] .

On March 27, the prelaunch test burn of the first stage at the launch pad [8] [9] was performed.

The launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle with the first reusable first stage took place on March 30, 2017 at 22:27 UTC with the launch complex LC-39A , located on the territory of the Kennedy Space Center [10] [11] . The first step for the second time successfully sat on the platform " Of Course I Still Love You ".
