Biography
After the parents divorced, from the age of two she was raised in the family of Stephen Franklin, a maternal grandfather, a relative of Benjamin Franklin .
She graduated from the school of St. Mary in Benisha .
Since 1930, adhered to anti - communist views. She did not support either fascism or communism , although she considered communism a greater evil.
During the civil war in Spain (1936-1939) supported the Franco .
Died of a stroke .
Creativity
G. Atherton made his literary debut in 1886. Author of novels, short stories, and screenplays, mainly devoted to the social history of California, the study of the history and culture of Spanish California. She also owns a number of essays and articles in magazines and newspapers on feminism, politics, and war.
Well acquainted with the plight of women, she devoted many of her works to the clash of personalities of men and women, to human relations.
Used the pseudonyms Asmodeus, Frank Lin.
The work of G. Atherton was compared with the work of G. James and E. Wharton .
