Sugar syrup

Description

Sugar syrup is often used to make cocktails because of the ease of mixing with other liquids and because this type of syrup does not affect the color of the main course. Syrup can be prepared at home. Canned syrup can have a different degree of strength, which depends on the method of canning. In the finished product, the percentage of sugar should not be less than 70% [2] .

Cooking

Sugar syrup is prepared for short-term and long-term storage, depending on this, the methods of its preparation may differ. It can be used for dessert dishes and cocktails.

The first way

To prepare a serving of sugar syrup, 250 milliliters of water and 350 grams of granulated sugar are taken. Water is poured into a container, then granulated sugar is poured into it and boiled over low heat for 10 minutes. The ingredients are constantly mixed, and the foam is removed. After preparation, sugar syrup is used as an additive for cocktails or for other dishes [3] .

Second way

Take 600 grams of sugar and 400 milliliters of water, mix, put on fire, bring to a boil for 8-10 minutes. The resulting foam is removed with a spoon [4] .

Canning

The canning syrup is prepared in a volumetric basin, the same as that intended for jam. Pour water, add sugar. When the syrup boils, the foam is removed with a slotted spoon . Cooked syrup is filtered through cheesecloth [2] .
