Biography

Yolanda Montes was born on January 3, 1932 in Spokane ( Washington ) in a mixed family - her father Elmer Sven Montes was a Spaniard, Edna Pearl Farrington's mother was Swedish. From childhood she was fond of dancing. Acted as a ballerina in San Francisco . In 1947 she moved to Mexico, where she got a job at the Tivoli cabaret as a dancer, and did her job with great success. In the same year, she came up with her stage name - Tongolele. The career of a dancer brought huge success and attracted the attention of filmmakers. In 1947, Yolanda Montes made her debut in the movie "Night Love" and has since starred in 28 films and television series. In 2001, she starred in the role of Yolanda - the owner of the cabaret β€œDe Ruby” in the Mexican television series β€œ Passion for Salome ”, which brought the actress fame in many countries of the world.

Personal life

In 1956, Yolanda Montes married Cuban Joaquin GonzΓ‘lez, whom she had met since the late 1940s, and in 1950 gave birth to her future wife, the twin brothers Ruben and Ricardo. Life together continued until the death of Gonzalez on December 22, 1996.
