Lotva ( Belorussian. Lotva ) is a village in the Myadel district of the Minsk region of Belarus . Until 2006, it was a member of the Lotvinsky Village Council , and after its abolition, it passed into the Myadel Village Council .

Name Origin
The name of the village Lotva comes from the lake of the same name Lotviny . The Polish word "Łotwa" also means the name of Latvia . In ancient times, the Polotsk Krivichi called the population of Latgale as a lottery.
Geography
The village is located on the shore of Lake Lotviny, 10 km from the regional center of Myadel , on the Postavy - Myadel - Minsk highway.
History
In 1868 , the village of Mankovitsky volost of the Vileika county of Vilna province , 79 inhabitants.
In 1904 , there were 133 inhabitants in the village.
In 1921 , a village in the Mankovitsky commune of Dunilovičy (since 1925, Postavsky) county of Vilnius Voivodeship , 12 courtyards, 58 inhabitants.
Since 10/12/1940, the center of the village council of the Postavy district .
Since September 20, 1940, Myadel district of the Vileika region .
Since September 20, 1944, as part of the Molodechensk Region .
From 01.20. 1960 as part of the Minsk region .
In 1949 , fellow villagers united in a collective farm named after Bulganin .
Since 1954, the village is the center of an enlarged collective farm with the same name, from 22.10. 1957 collective farm "40 years of October" .
In 1957, a store and a first-aid post were opened here.
In 1960 , 93 residents.
Near the school building in 1965 an obelisk was erected in memory of 18 compatriots who died in battles with the Nazis in 1941 - 1945.
On 01.01. 1997 95 yards, 292 residents. In the village there are buildings of the executive committee of the village council and the collective farm board, a communications department and a savings bank, a library, a comprehensive reception center for public services, a feldsher-midwife center, a secondary school, a store, the House of Culture, as well as a repair shop and a livestock farm.
In 2015 , by the forces of the villagers, instead of the existing wooden cross, a metal Poklonnaya Cross was installed at the entrance to Lotva.
