Burminka is a village in the Alexander Nevsky District of the Ryazan Region . It is the administrative center of the Burminsky rural settlement . It is located next to the river of the same name flowing nearby.

History
The village of Burminka is named after the river where it is located. According to another version, by the name of the landowner Burmin.
The etymology of the word Burminka - “the storm has passed”: according to legend, a terrible storm once raged that destroyed villages and villages that were located on its path, but the storm did not affect Burminka - hence the name.
Earlier, Burminka was part of the Ryazh district of the Ryazan province . In 1929, the Burma village council of the former Ryazh district of the Ryazan province became part of the Alexander Nevsky District.
Now the village is a powerful agricultural center. In the village is the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin (Intercession Church) [3] .
For the first time Burminka is mentioned in salary books of 1676, where it was noticed that who was in that village:
"... the church of the great miracle worker Nicholas was built in the last 1675, and the parish again evicted from the village of Petrovsky." [four]
Instead of the Nikolskaya church mentioned in the 17th century, at the end of the 18th century a wooden Pokrovskaya church was built with a side chapel of Nikolsky. The now-existing stone church of the Intercession also began in 1830, and ended in 1834, but at the same time the stone bell tower located at the church was built and the side chapel of Nikolsky. In 1862, the chapel church was rebuilt and distributed .
“In a parish consisting of only one village, a husband is listed at 320 yards. gender 1315, women gender 1458. The number of literate is very small, although the school existed from 1862 - 79 years. " [4]
In 1895, the population of the village of Burminka, Ryazh district, Ryazan province totaled 1762 people.

Church of the Intercession
The temple in honor of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary was founded in 1830. It is consecrated - in 1834, instead of the wooden Pokrovskaya church located on the same place with the side chapel of Nikolsky.
According to the state of 1873, 1 priest and 1 psalm-keeper [4] [5] are placed in the clergy.
In 1936 the temple was closed. After closing, it was used as a granary and warehouse. Currently, the restoration of the temple. Prayers and trebes are performed. Old Testament lectures on Tuesdays at the village library [3] .
