Espen Lee Hansen began his career at the Norwegian clubs Skuger and GK Drammen. Playing in Norway, Espen Hansen became the Champion of Norway 3 times [1] . In 2011, Espen Hansen joined the Danish club Bierringbro-Silkeborg. In 2012, Hansen joined the French club Dunkirk , with whom he won the French Championship in 2014, as well as the Champions Cup in 2013. In 2014, Espen Lee Hansen moved to German Magdeburg, where he played one season. In 2015, Hansen moved to Bregenz Handball. In 2016, he became a Midtjuland player. In February 2018, Espen Lee Hansen joined the French Nantes Club. As part of Nantes, Hansen became the silver medalist of the EHF Champions League .
