Ivan Vladimirovich Pavlov ( Ukrainian: Ivan Volodimirovich Pavlov ; born September 26, 1998 in Kiev , Ukraine ) is a Ukrainian figure skater who performs in men's single skating . He is a two - time champion of Ukraine (2016-2017), a winner of the European Youth Olympic Festival (2015), a two-time winner of the Ukrainian Championship among juniors (2013 and 2015). In the summer of 2018, he began to try himself in pair skating with Sofia Golichenko .

Career
Ivan Pavlov appeared on the junior figure skating arena in the fall of 2012 , he started three times in the junior stages of the Grand Prix. He won the junior category in the tournament in Minsk and successfully performed in the junior category in the tournament in Nice . At the end of everything, he won the championship of Ukraine in figure skating in 2013 . The Ukrainian Federation sent him to the Junior World Cup in Milan , where he became one of the twenty best youth singles. In the Olympic season, he did not shine, but managed to win a bronze medal at the national championship and received the right in March 2014 to represent Ukraine at the junior championship in Sofia , where he finished in the middle of the top ten figure skaters.
In the aftermath of the Olympic season, Pavlov began in the autumn at the junior stage of the Grand Prix in Tallinn , where he performed not entirely successfully in the free program [2] . More successful was the performance at the stage in Croatia , where he closed the top five [3] . At the end of November, his performance among adults in Dortmund at the North Rhine-Westphalia Cup was successful, where he finished right after the winner. He earned a silver medal at the next national championship. After that, he won gold at the European Junior Olympic Festival . At the beginning of March 2015, Ivan once again played at the Youth World Championships in Estonia and again he failed to perform in full force.
In August 2015, the Ukrainian loner began a new season at the junior stage of the Grand Prix in Slovakia , where he finished only eighth. However, at the next stage in Linz, he managed to win a bronze medal [4] . His performance at one of the stages of the Challenger series for the Tallinn Cup was very successful, where he improved all his previous achievements and took fifth place. In December Pavlov for the first time became the champion of Ukraine. In January 2016, he made his debut in Bratislava at the European Championship , where he took fifteenth place, but improved his previous achievement in the short program. At the world championship in Boston, he managed to get into the final part of the championship.
Ivan began the pre-Olympic season again at the junior stages of the Grand Prix in the Czech Republic [5] and Slovenia [6] . However, he performed more successfully in Minsk , where he won the tournament. In December, he became the champion of Ukraine for the second time. At the end of January in Ostrava at the European Championship, the Ukrainian figure skater reached the final part of the championship and finished in the middle of the second twenty, while he slightly exceeded his previous achievements in the short program and the total. At the beginning of February 2017, the Ukrainian single played in the Winter Universiade in Almaty , he did not perform very well at competitions and took a place in the middle of the standings. In late March, he performed at the world championships in Helsinki . With a not very successful performance, the Ukrainian skater did not reach the final part and took a place in the third ten, but he managed to slightly improve his previous sports achievement in the short program.
The Ukrainian Olympic figure skater began the new Olympic season in September at the junior stage of the Grand Prix in Riga , where he was in the lead after a short program but finished fifth [7] . Two weeks later, he took part in Bratislava , where he finished in the top ten at the Ondrei Nepela Memorial tournament. In mid-October, at the final stage of the junior stage of the Grand Prix in Bolzano, Ivan came to the finish line sixth [8] . Two weeks later in Minsk at the Challenger series tournament, he managed to improve his previous achievements in total and short program and finish seventh [9] . In mid-December, at the national championship of the country, he failed to defend the title of champion. The Ukrainian Federation delegated him to the World Junior Championships. At the beginning of March in Sofia at the Junior World Championships, the skater finished in the top ten of the single-player. He also managed to improve his previous achievement in the free program.
At the beginning of summer, he decided to try himself again in pair skating. He paired up with another Ukrainian loner Sofia Golichenko [10] .
