Biography
Born in 1883 in the village of Medved in the Novgorod province . He later studied in St. Petersburg at the Institute of Civil Engineers . During his studies, he participated in the construction of the Bologoe station of the Polotsk railway . After the institute, he worked as an assistant architect.
In 1910 he entered the service of the Smolensk city administration as a city architect. He was the author of projects and the leader in the construction of many buildings that shaped the pre-revolutionary Smolensk, including public school buildings on Dukhovskaya, Armenian Streets (now both Sobolev St.), Svirskaya Street (Krasnoflotskaya St.), the building of the Anniversary School in honor of the war of 1812. , the building of the Choral Synagogue , etc. He supervised the construction of the hospital building of the Red Cross community (on the memorial plaque it was mistakenly indicated as the author of the project).
After the October Revolution, he worked in various positions in the Soviet leadership, and also taught and was dean of the architectural department of the Smolensk Polytechnic Institute. In 1922 he was transferred to service in Moscow .
