Shamil Magomedovich Omarov (born September 28, 1936, village of Shitlib, Dagestan) is a Soviet and Russian Dagestan pharmacologist, specialist in apitherapy and zootoxinology.

Initially, an anatomist and physiologist, later Sh. M. Omarov becomes a pharmacotherapist. In 1980, he defended his doctoral dissertation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, in the same year he was awarded the title of professor, since 1988 head of the Department of Pharmacology of the Dagestan Medical University , his honored professor (2013) [1] , president of the Dagestan branch of the Russian section of the International Academy of Sciences, member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Dagestan [2] [3] , chairman of the Society of Pharmacologists of Dagestan [3] , member of the Union of Writers of Russia.

Honored Scientist of the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1990), awarded the N.P. Kravkov Medal of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (2012) and many other awards . In 2016, Sh. M. Omarov was called the leader of Dagestan pharmacology and apitherapy in Dagestan Truth [4] .

Biography

Born in with. Shitlib of the Gunib district of the DASSR in the family of a rural worker, and his grandfather was a beekeeper and a self-taught healer - an apitherapist [5] . He graduated from elementary school in his native village, seven-year-old in the neighboring village of Megeb, then he studied at the Sogratlinsky boarding school, where he was greatly influenced by his teacher MM Makhatilov [5] . He graduated from the Dagestan State Medical Institute (1961), where he entered in 1955.

In 1961-1963 worked as a doctor in the Gumbetovsky district of Dagestan. In 1963-1965 - Assistant of the Department of Physiology of Alma Mater and part-time doctor of emergency medicine and the city sanitary and epidemiological station of Makhachkala. In 1965-1968 full-time graduate student of the Faculty of Biology, Gorky State University named after N. I. Lobachevsky - Professor N. M. Artyomov . In 1969, at the Gorky State Medical Institute. S. M. Kirova defended his Ph.D. thesis “The Effect of Animal Poisons on Some Indicators of the Blood Coagulation System”. Then again to the alma mater.

From 1970 to 1975, an assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor (since 1971) of the Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology of the Dagestan State Pedagogical Institute . From 1976 to 1978, a doctoral candidate at the Research Institute of Normal Physiology named after P.K. Anokhin, Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR . In 1980, in Moscow at the University of Friendship of Peoples. P. Lumumba defended his doctoral dissertation “Pathophysiological Aspects of the Anticoagulating Effect of Zootoxins and Their Ingredients” (consultant academician K.V. Sudakov ). Since 1980, professor at the Department of Anatomy and Physiology of the Dagestan State Pedagogical Institute.

Since 1988, at the Dagestan State Medical University (until 2016 - the Academy, until 1995 - the Institute), head of the Department of Pharmacology (until 2004, the Department of Pharmacology with a course of clinical pharmacology [6] ) [7] [8] . Member of the ethics committee of the university (since 2001 [7] [8] ) [9] , Sh. M. Omarov leads the promotion of scientific medicine [6] [10] . Also chairman of the University Alumni Association (since 2016) [11] .

Chairman of the Society of Pharmacologists (Scientific Society of Pharmacologists [2] [6] ) Dagestan [3] [7] [8] , member of the board of the Russian Scientific Society of Pharmacologists [3] [7] [8] , member of the Academic Council Dagestan State Medical University [12] and the scientific council of the Dagestan State University for the defense of dissertations [7] [8] . For several years, he was a member of the Scientific Council of the USSR State Committee for Science and Technology on the problem of “Intensification of production of beekeeping products, the study of their chemical composition for implementation in medical practice” [3] [7] [8] ; repeatedly appointed chairman of the state certification commission in the specialty "Pharmacy" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation [7] [8] ; member of the international committee of Apimondia (1989) [8] ; Consultant, American Biographical Institute for Apitherapy (2002) [3] [10] [13] . Member of the organizing committee of the V Congress of Russian Pharmacologists (Yaroslavl, 2018) [14] .

Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Dagestan [2] [3] [5] . Permanent president of the Dagestan branch of the Russian section of the International Academy of Sciences (IAS) [8] [15] with his education at the Department of Pharmacology DGMA in 1996 [6] , carries out a lot of work in this capacity [16] , Honorary Academician of MAN (2006) [8] , full member of the International Academy of Creativity and the International Academy of Apyphytotherapy [3] .

Member of Russian and international forums devoted to the problems of apitherapy and pharmacology (Romania, Yugoslavia, Poland, Switzerland, Israel, Spain, Belgium, Canada, China, India, South Africa, Mexico, Greece, Bulgaria, Hungary, Japan, Argentina) [10] .

In 2006, the Dagestan State Medical Academy hosted an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 70th birthday of Sh. M. Omarov, “the founder of the school of apitherapy in the North Caucasus” (the first deputy chairman of the government of the Republic of Dagestan, Professor N. E. Kaziev) [20] [21] . In 2016, at the Dagestan State Medical University, organized with the participation of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, a scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of academician Sh. M. Omarov was held. The president of the International Academy of Sciences came to congratulate the hero of the day [15] [22] .

Under the leadership of Sh. M. Omarov, 5 doctoral and 8 master's theses were defended [8] , among which were Gelashvili D. B. , A. G. Mannapov , R. T. Mannapova , Romanova E. B., Asafova N. N. [23] .

Sh. M. Omarov speaks in the media and central medical journals on topical issues of pharmacotherapy and in particular apitherapy [24] . The scientist participates in a large written correspondence; other people write to him a lot, in particular patients, such letters from his archive totals more than one hundred thousand [5] . Omarov is one of the leading specialists in the field of apitherapy in Russia and abroad” .

The author of more than 400 scientific papers translated into foreign languages [10] , 15 monographs; developed 15 rationalization proposals and a number of patents for the invention [8] .

Wife Abidat Abdulkadyrovna Omarova - teacher of mathematics, organizer of the Dagestan Republican multi-disciplinary lyceum, honored teacher of the Russian Federation and RD. Sh. M.
