General ( Eng. General (United Kingdom ) - the highest military rank of general in the British Army in peacetime. In wartime, is the second senior rank of the British Army after the rank of Field Marshal .
In the British military hierarchy, the rank of "general" is located above the rank of lieutenant general and below the rank of field marshal . In other branches of the army, it corresponds to the title of "Chief Marshal of Aviation" in the Royal Air Force and the title of " Admiral " in the Royal Navy .
