Sumygaz

Gasification of the Sumy region began in 1952, when it began supplying residents of the region with liquefied natural gas in cylinders .

In 1957, construction of a gas pipeline branch to the city of Shostka began from the Dashava-Kiev-Moscow gas pipeline, while construction of a gas distribution station began in Shostka. On October 24, 1960, the Gorgaz office was established in Shostka, and in May 1961 gas supply to the first residential buildings of the city began. Thus, Shostka became the first settlement of the Sumy region to receive a centralized gas supply system ^[1] .

In 1962, the first gas filling station was put into operation in the city of Sumy with a production capacity of 3 thousand m³ of liquefied natural gas per year ^[1] .

In 1963, the construction of the main gas pipeline was completed in Sumy and the production and operational office of the gas economy was established (from September 1, 1972 - the Oblgaz department of the Sumy region) ^[1] .

On September 5, 1975, the Oblgaz management was renamed the Sumygaz production association ^[1] .

After the independence of Ukraine , the Sumygaz production association was transformed into an open joint-stock company .

After the creation of the state holding company "Ukrgaz" on July 16, 1996, the enterprise was transferred to the company ^[2] .

In August 1997, the gas supply and gasification company Sumygaz OJSC was assigned to the category of enterprises of strategic importance for the economy and security of Ukraine ^[3] .

After the creation of the National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine on May 25, 1998, the enterprise was transferred to the company ^[4] .

After the establishment of the company “ Gas of Ukraine ” in 2000, “Sumygaz” was transferred to the jurisdiction of the recreation center “Gas of Ukraine” ^[1] .

In 2005, a private company, Gaztek, was created, which acquired a controlling stake in several gas distribution companies in Ukraine (including OJSC Sumygaz). In 2015, Gaztek increased the size of the controlling stake in Sumygaz from 25.78% to 46.64% ^[5] .

The structure of the enterprise includes the main department, 4 departments for the operation of the gas economy, 14 workshops and a subsidiary Gazovik, the total number of employees is 2800 people ^[1] .
