Geography

The village of Aktayuzh is located in the central part of the Kilemarsky district, in the forest zone on the left bank of the Bolshoi Kundysh river , between the mouths of its tributaries Yuzhovka and Ilyushkino . The village is located on a regional highway 88K-006 Krasny Most - Kilemary - Sharanga , 10 km southeast of the center of the rural settlement - the village of Shirokundysh , 16 km southeast of the administrative center of Kilemarsky district - the village of Kilemary.

History

For the first time, the settlement was mentioned in 1774 as the village of Yuzha in 55 yards [4] .

In 1900-1905, a wooden church was built in Aktauzha with a throne in the name of Nicholas the Wonderworker . Cemetery chapels in the villages of Shirokundysh, Shaptunga and Kuplonga were assigned to the church. In 1937 the church was closed, the church building was converted for the needs of the collective farm. Icons, books and other church utensils were taken to the Republican Museum of Local Lore [5] [4] .

In 1934, the Aktayuzh agricultural cartel (then collective farm) was created in the village. In 1948, the Aktayuzh collective farm was enlarged and became part of the Zhdanov farm, later renamed the Awakening collective farm [4] .

In 1990-1991, divine service was restored in St. Nicholas Church [5] [4] .

As of January 1, 2014, according to the assessment of the administration of the rural settlement in Aktayuzha, 247 residents living in 84 houses [6] .

Current situation

Aktayuzhsky kindergarten, rural club, feldsher-midwife station, shop are working in the village. There is no school, children attend Kilemar secondary school. There is a sawmill. [6] [7] .

The housing stock in 2011 is represented by 64 individual manor-type residential buildings and one semi-detached house. The houses are not provided with centralized water supply. There is no centralized drainage. The village is not gasified, gas is supplied in cylinders [7] .

The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, located in the village, is an object of cultural heritage [7] .
