Biography

Member of the PDP since January 1945

During the years of German occupation, he was kept in a labor camp and fled. Since 1945, he has been an activist of the Union for the Struggle of the Young (since 1948, the Union of Polish Youth ) in the regions of the Dombrowski Coal Basin of Poland: chairman of the city organization of the SBM in Sosnowiec, head of the department in the commune organization of the SBM, since 1946, head of the department of the Central Commission of Trade Unions, since 1948 - head of the department and secretary of the commune organization PSM.

From 1953 he studied at the Central Party School, then - at the Faculty of Law of the University of Warsaw. In 1955, he was appointed senior inspector of the organizational department of the Central Committee of the PUWP, from October 8, 1955, he was the secretary of the voivodship committee of the PUWP in Szczecin on organizational issues, from March 26, 1960 - deputy head, from June 29, 1971 - head of the administrative department Central Committee of the PUWP. At the same time he was vice president (1960-1965) and president of the Polish Football Union (1965-1972).

In 1971-1973 - Minister of Internal Affairs of the NDP. He died in a plane crash (18 people died with him, including the Minister of the Interior of Czechoslovakia R. Kasku and the head of the defense and security department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Czechoslovak Republic M. Kujey).

Member of the PUWP Central Committee since December 11, 1971. Candidate for the Central Committee since June 20, 1964. Member of the Sejm of the NDP of the VI convocation.

He had the military rank of "Colonel."

Awards and titles

He was awarded the Officer’s Cross and the Commander’s Cross with the Star of the Order of the Renaissance of Poland, orders of the “Banner of Labor” of I and II classes, the Cross of the Brave, two Silver Crosses of Merit, the medal of the 10th anniversary of the NDP.
