Elections to the Supreme Council of the Turkmen SSR were held on January 7, 1990 . [1] The only party that participated in the elections was the Communist Party of the Turkmen SSR (KPT), the local organization of the CPSU . According to the election results, the CBT received about 90% of the vote and 175 seats in the Supreme Council. [2] Voter turnout was 93.6%.
