Shakirov, Rafail Makhmutovich

Rafail Makhmutovich Shakirov (born 1953, Yarsky district , Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic ) is a Soviet biathlete . Bronze medalist of the USSR championship in biathlon in the race of patrols (1977).

Biography

He graduated from Yarsk school number 2 and Yarsk pedagogical school [1] . He represented the sports club "Progress" and the city of Glazov, Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . Pupil of coach Alexander Semyonovich Buldakov. At the all-Union competitions he represented the sports union "Trade Unions".

In February 1977, he won the relay championship of the FIS CA (JSS "Trade Unions") in the relay as part of the Glazov team "Progress". According to the results of these competitions, he was included in the national team of DSO "Trade Unions", together with his club friend Leonid Gorbushin . In April 1977, in Murmansk, he won the bronze medal of the USSR Biathlon Championship in the patrol race as part of the trade union team.

Before the start of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, he participated in the Olympic torch relay in Glazov, he was entrusted with lighting an Olympic torch in the city [2] .

In the 2010s, he took part in veteran skiing and running competitions [3] [4] . Lives in Glazov.
