Muhammad Kasim-aga Sarydzhaly-Dzhevanshir ( azerb. Məhəmmədqasım ağa Sarıcalı-Cavanşir ) - statesman, colonel , son of the seventh Karabakh khan Ibrahim Khalil-khan .

Life

The son of Ibrahim-Khalil Khan from the daughter of Allahyar-bek Ungutlinsky [1] . Mohammed Kasum-aga, although he was not with his father when he was killed by the rangers of Lieutenant Colonel Lisanevich , nevertheless, like his elder brother Khanlar-aga, fled to Persia . He was able to return to Karabakh only in the autumn of 1807, already under the new Commander-in-Chief in Georgia, Count Gudovich (1806-1809), was forgiven and renewed his oath [2] .

At the time of the abolition of the khan’s power in December 1822, Muhammad Kasim-aga owned 12 villages and nomads, the inheritance rights to which were left to him by the Russian government [3] .

December 24, 1823 “according to the testimony of the commander of a separate Caucasian Corps, the gene [general] -ot-inf [anterii] Ermolov ’s commitment to the Russian government and well-intentioned behavior” Muhammad Kasim-aga was promoted to lieutenant colonel with a salary of 600 rubles silver a year [4] . After his death, half of this pension was discontinued, and his heirs began to receive the second half on the basis of the highest command dated October 28, 1843 [5] and the order of the Department of the State Treasury of the Shemakha Treasury Chamber on March 4, 1844 [6] .

Family

Muhammad Kasum-aga was married to Khadija-begum, the daughter of his uncle Mehrali-bek Dzhevanshir [7] , as well as to Gusni-Jahan-khanum. He had four sons: Najaf-Quli-aga, Pasha-aga (c. 1820—?), Kerim-aga (1826-1907), Kasum-aga (c. 1834—?) And two daughters: Jahan Khanum and Bala Khanum of Jevanshira [8] [9]
