Career
Club
A pupil of the school " Split ", where he passed all age groups. He began his professional career at Split in 1992. A year later he moved to the neighboring Mosor Zhrnovnitsa , then he moved to the club of the major Croatian league Varteks Varazdin , but the next season he changed the club again, moving to Marsonia . At the beginning of 1997 he played for Sibenik , in the summer of that year he returned to Split. After a short stretch at Varteks, in which he spent one match in the Croatian championship , Tonchi moved to the Czech Marila . In January 2001, he was at the Alania camp in Syria [1] . In early March, was announced to participate in the championship of Russia [2] . He made his debut for the club in the top division on March 10 in the away match of the first round against the Ramensky “ Saturn ”, leaving the first minutes and being replaced in the 83rd minute by Robert Bitarov [3] . In 2002, after returning from Russia, he finished the game and began to pursue a coaching career.
Coaching
For 5 years he trained children from the Primorats club school, in 2006 he was appointed head coach of the club. Then he moved to “Split” and became the coach of the youth team, and a year later - in the spring of the 2008/09 season he was appointed coach of the main team [4] . On August 14, 2011, after a draw with Osijek (2: 2), the club’s head coach Ivan Katalinich was fired, after which Tonchi Bashic was appointed coach. Since 2013, he has been working as a sports director in Split.
