Biography
Haji-bek Mirza Zeynal-bek oglu Sultanov was born in the village of Jebrail district of Elizabethpol province [2] . After graduating from the local Russian-Muslim school, he joined the tsarist army. He began military service on September 1, 1866, as a cadet of the 2nd Konstantinovsky Military School in St. Petersburg . After graduating from college in 1868, he was promoted to the army with the rank of ensign .
With the beginning of the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. secured secondment to the detachment of General I. Oklobzhio . He took part in the attack on the Turkish port of Batum .
On October 7, 1880, with the rank of lieutenant, by Highest Order he was transferred to the 81st Absheron Infantry Regiment . In the same year, G. Sultanov as part of this regiment took part in the Akhal-teka expedition , and in the same year he was awarded the rank of captain for military distinction.
In 1885 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel, and on February 26, 1895 - to colonel.
Arrested on November 28, 1920 , convicted and executed 4 days later.
