History
Since 1688, the documents refer to the Buyvidy (Buyvidze) farm. From the middle of the 17th century, Buyvidze belonged to the Brzhostovsky family. At the end of the XVIII century, one of the Brzhostovskys married Vilnius Marshal Michal Radzishevsky [1] . According to another version, Michal Brzhostovsky in 1784 lost to Buyvidze to Mikhal Radzishevsky for 2000 chervontsy [2] . Radzishevsky, on the project of the architect Vavzhinets Gutsevich (Laurinas Stuoki-Gutsevichyus), erected a manor (inherited by his son Stanislav Radzishevsky).
In 1790, at the expense of Radzishevsky, a wooden church of St. George was built, consecrated in 1796 . Simultaneously with the temple, a rectangular chapel was built in pyramidal shape, which became the tomb of the Radzishevsky family [2] . In 1982, the temple burned down; in 1986 a new church was built.
In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Buivida was a place.
In 1930, a high school with teaching in Polish was founded. Now there is also a branch of the Lavorish Basic School with teaching in Lithuanian.
In 1950 - 1993, the village was the central estate of the collective farm.
On April 23, 2012, the emblem of the village was approved by a decree of the President of the Republic of Lithuania. The standard of the coat of arms depicting a red deer on a silver background, resting on a shield with the cross of St. George, was created by the artist Rolandas Rimkunas [3] .
