The champion was (the 6th time in the history of the championships) team representing the province of Ontario (for the team itself, led by skip Rachel Homan , it was the 3rd victory), winning in the final against the team representing the province of Manitoba (skip Michel Englot ). Bronze medals won the "team of Canada" (skip Chelsea Carey ), which won the match for the 3rd place team from the province of Northern Ontario (skip Christa McCarville ).

Rachel Homan , winning the championship at the age of 27, became the youngest skip to win in three Canadian championships ( Sandra Schmirler won the third championship at 33, Connie Laliberte at 35) [2] .

Event Format

Qualifications: Starting from the 2015 championship , only the 11 best teams of the previous championship receive an automatic ticket to the main tournament. The rest of the teams play in the pre-qualifying tournament for the twelfth start to the main tournament [3] . At first they play one circle in a circular system , and then the best two play each other in the final qualification.

Main tournament: At the first, group stage, 12 teams play one round in a circular system . The last-ranked team is sent to the next qualifying tournament next year. The four best teams in the group stage enter the second stage, the playoffs , where they play according to the Page system : the two best teams, following the results of the group round, hold a match for a direct hit in the final (play-off-1). The 3rd and 4th teams play for the semi-finals (play-off-2). In the semifinals, there is a loser in the first match and a winner in the second. In the finals, gold awards are challenged by the winners of the playoffs-1 and semi-finals. Bronze medals have been playing (since 2010) the losers in the semifinal and in the playoffs 2.
