Larry Lance is a fictional comic book character by DC Comics , the husband of the first Black Canary and the father of the second. The character was created by Robert Kaniger and Carmine Infantino and first appeared in Flash Comics # 92 (February 1948) as a love interest for the Black Canary. Paul Blackthorn plays a character named Quentin Larry Lance in the television series The Arrow Universe .

Fictional Biography
Larry Lance
Larry Lance First appears as a love interest for Dina Drake (the alter ego of the Black Canary) and a peculiar male version of the "lady in trouble", as well as a valuable ally and partner of the Black Canary. Later, Larry and Dina got married and they had a daughter [1] .
In Justice League of America # 73 (August 1969), Larry is given more attention as he watches over Starmen, wounded in a battle with the villain Aquarius. In Justice League of America # 74, Larry sacrifices himself to save his wife from a clot of cosmic energy sent to her by Aquarius. After her husband’s funeral, the Black Canary and her daughter pass through the portal between to Earth-1, since on Earth-2 too much reminds her of her dead husband [2] .
Feeling lonely, the Black Canary finds Lance's Earth-1 larry, but he turns out to be a Collector , an intermediary in communicating with the people of Gotham. His responsibilities included resolving difficulties and, at the end, presenting an invoice to everyone interested in this. He manipulated the Black Canary and died in an attempt to kill Batman at the races [3] .
Post-crisis biography
The post-crisis biography is practically no different from the pre-crisis biography, with the exception of a few details. Birds of Prey # 66 (June 2004) reveals that in the past, Larry was a supporter of Jim Gordon, who sought to free society from influence from the mafia, primarily from the families of Falcone and Bertinelli. The conversation was interrupted by the attack of a serial killer known as the “Blonde Butcher,” who kills Larry and his wife. Subsequently, years later, the second Black Canary will find the killer and find out his identity [4] .
The New 52 / Kurt Lance
In 2011, after the restart of the DC Comics universe, known as The New 52, the Black Canary, aka Dina Drake Lance, hides from the authorities for the murder of her husband, Kurt Lance [5] . However. in the Teen Titans comic # 8 (June 2012), a special squad created by Amanda Waller and called the “Team 7” is shown - its member is the lively and healthy Kurt Lance, performing top-secret operations [6] . After the start of the Team 7 comic book series in November 2012, the circumstances of his “death” were revealed in more detail when he worked for the government along with Amanda Waller, Detstroke and the Black Canary (then still bearing her maiden name) [7] .

In Arrow Universe, the character’s full name sounds like Quentin Larry Lance ( Paul Blackthorn ), he is a Starling City / Star City police officer (at various times he served as detective, officer and captain), and later deputy mayor of Oliver Queen
- For the first time, the character appears in the television series Strela , he is a detective of Starling City Police and is engaged in the case of the recently appeared vigilante, whose name is The Hood [8] . Despite the initial belief that Hood is a criminal, he subsequently began to regularly collaborate with him in order to catch other criminals. In the second season he was demoted to an officer, but in the third he received the position of captain. In the fifth season, he quit the police and was elected deputy mayor.
