Parliamentary elections in Liechtenstein took place on February 1, 1970 . [1] The Landtag included 15 seats. For the first time in its history, the Patriotic Union since its inception in 1936 received a majority with 8 out of 15 seats. However, the union continued to function in the coalition government along with the Progressive Civil Party , which had been in power since 1938. [2] The turnout was 94.8%, [3] although only men had the right to vote. [four]
