Biography
He represented the sports society Dynamo and the city of Vilnius . The trainers are Julia Stashelene (1967-1969) and Vladimir Yanushkovsky (1970-1978).
In 1972, at the USSR championship among juniors, he won the relay and won silver in the individual race.
In 1973, he became the two-time winner of the World Championship among juniors in small-caliber biathlon in Italy - he won the gold medal in the individual race, the entire pedestal in it was occupied by representatives of the USSR - the second was Sergey Belolipetskiy, and the third - Alexander Elizarov ; and also won the 3x7.5 km relay. At the next similar tournament, in 1974 in Finland, he became the champion in the relay and the bronze medalist in the individual race. In 1974, he also took part in the Junior World Championship by standard rules in Minsk , won bronze medals in the sprint, became fifth in the individual race and fourth in the relay [1] .
In 1974, he also became the winner of the youth Spartakiad of the peoples of the USSR in the individual race.
At the USSR Championship, he twice won gold medals in the relay, in 1976 and 1977, both times as part of the Dynamo team, along with Tagir Khasanov , Vladimir Ochnev and Alexander Tikhonov .

He graduated from Vilnius College of Railway Transport (1971).
He died in a car accident at the age of 25.
