Sir Gordon Moore (also found Archibald Moore , full name Archibald Gordon Henry Wilson Moore Eng. Archibald Gordon Henry Wilson Moore , February 2, 1862 - April 2, 1934 ) - British naval commander, Fleet Admiral, Third Sea Lord fleet controller (see Lords - members of the Admiralty Committee ). Knight Commander of the Order of the Baths and Commander of the Royal Victorian Order .

Gordon Moore began serving in the Navy in 1882, participated in the Anglo-Egyptian War [1] , received the rank of captain of the Royal Navy on July 17, 1901 [2] , and later received the rank of vice admiral . In 1907, Gordon Moore was appointed to the post of Secretary ( Eng. Naval Assistant ) of the First Sea Lord . In 1909, he was appointed director of the department of naval artillery ( Eng.Naval Ordnance and Torpedoes ), in 1912, Gordon Moore reached the pinnacle of his career when he became the third sea lord and controller of the fleet.
Since the beginning of the First World War, Gordon Moore commanded the 2nd squadron of battle cruisers ( Eng. 2nd Battlecruiser Squadron ), in August 1914 he participated in the battle in Helgoland Bay . In the Battle of Dogger Banks, he was deputy admiral David Beatty [3] . Since February 1915, he commanded the 9th cruiser squadron ( Eng. 9th Cruiser Squadron ), in 1917 he was appointed controller of the department of the chief military mechanic ( Eng. Mechanical Warfare Department ). Gordon Moore retired in 1919.
