Biography

He played for the Zenit sports society and the city of Izhevsk , and represented Mashzavod / Izhplaneta at republican competitions.

In 1969, he won the individual race (15 km) at the USSR Championship among juniors. In January 1970, he became the two-time winner of the winter Spartakiad of the Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic among adults in the individual race (20 km) and relay race. In December 1970, he became the winner of the second competition " Izhevsk Rifle " among juniors in the individual race, and in the relay race he participated in the adult race as part of the Udmurtia national team and took third place. In January 1971, he won international competitions in Kavgolovo in the individual race among juniors. In the same month in Cesis, Latvia, he won the bronze medals of the USSR Cup in the relay race among adults in the Udmurtia national team.

On February 19, 1970, he won the individual race (15 km) at the World Junior Championships in Ostersund . At the next junior championship, in 1971 in the Finnish HΓ€meenlinna , he won the relay in the USSR national team with Alexander Bogdanov and Jan Chaurs.

At the USSR Championship in 1973 he won bronze medals in the relay as part of the national team of the Zenit society.

In December 1973 he won bronze in the individual race at the All-Union competitions for the Olympia prize. He participated in the 1974 USSR Championship, which took place as part of the Winter Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR , and took the fifth place in the relay race as part of the third team of the RSFSR. In December 1975, he became the second in the relay race at the Izhevsk Rifle competition as part of the Udmurtia national team.

In 1976 he completed his sports career. Lives in the Votkinsk district of Udmurtia [2] . In 2014, he was a torchbearer in the Olympic torch relay in Udmurtia [3] , and became an honored guest of the Winter Olympics in Sochi [4] .

Personal life

He graduated from the engineering department of the Izhevsk Mechanical Institute (1976).
