Geography
The working village of Lyubsky was located in the northern part of the Tersky district, off the left bank of the Malokabardinsky Canal . It was located 6 km south of the rural center of Terek , 28 km northeast of the regional center - Terek and 81 km from the city of Nalchik .
It bordered on the lands of the settlements: Terekskoye in the north and Malokabardinsky in the east.
The settlement was located at the northern foot of the Arik ridge on the inclined Kabardian plain , in the transition from the foothill to the lowland zone of the republic. The terrain on the territory of the abandoned village is mainly foothill inclined plains with hilly and mound hills. To the south of the village rise the slopes of the Aric Range. Average altitudes are 204 meters above sea level.
The hydrographic network of the area was mainly represented by the Malokabardinsky Canal.
History
The working village was founded in 1930, after the construction of the Malokabardinsky Canal. The population in the village was small, as it was mainly inhabited by personnel who checked the operation of the Malokabardinsky Experimental Irrigation System (ICEP). Administratively, the settlement was part of the Terek Village Council .
During the Great Patriotic War , the village was severely destroyed during the battles for the capture of the Arik ridge, and the personnel living in it were evacuated.
In 1944, the working village was abolished and removed from the registration data of the Tersky district.
In 1949, near the abandoned village, a new working village was founded - Maly Terek .
Current status
Nowadays, the land on which the village of Lyubsky was located is part of the rural settlement of Terekskoye.
