The concept and main question of the film
For a long time, Europe believed that Spain was not Europe. There are many stereotypical ideas about Spain, including the fact that this is a country of eternal holiday, in which careless and idle people live. The authors of the film exploit the stereotype established outside the Iberian Peninsula that every resident of Spain has something from Don Quixote . [2] Vladimir Pozner and Ivan Urgant will go along the route of the legendary hidalgo, try to figure out who the Spaniards are and what is Spanish. In one of the series, the authors of the film explore the “ Reconquista ” - a unique phenomenon of Spanish history, which is an eight-century war with the Moors for the liberation of the occupied lands. [3] Author and creator of the documentary series:
| We really looked for Don Quixote, we asked the Spaniards about him: where is he, is he still alive? Maybe this noble and eccentric knight no longer has a place in Spain? We looked for people like him. And we found him. And of course, we found Sancho Panza. There are many places to find him, around every corner. They complement each other, and both of them are an essential part of Spain. [four]Vladimir Pozner |
