Geographical position
The village is located 23 km south-east of the district center, Poretsky . The nearest train station is 48 km away. The village is located on both banks of the river Siyavka [2] .
History
The village was formed in the second half of the 18th century at the distillery of the Counts Saltykovs. The village was inhabited by Russian peasants, which belonged to the landowners Saltykov and Myatlev until 1861. Classes of the population were farming, animal husbandry, brick, tin, metalworking, forging, woodworking and turning, sheepskin furring, shoemaking and shoemaking, making and repairing musical instruments, watchmaking. In 1825, the Church of the Savior of the Arms was built. In 1885 a single-class parochial school was opened, and in 1893 a school of letters was opened [2] .
In 1933 the Krasnogor collective farm was formed. In 1937, a secondary school was organized. In 1928 a hospital was opened, at the time of opening it was one of the best rural hospitals in Chuvashia. Many villagers went to the front of the Great Patriotic War, killing more than 200 people. In 1965, one of the first monuments to those who died in the war was erected in the area. A native of the village, Ivan Alexandrovich Sityaev, Major General, was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor [2] [3] .
Administrative Affiliation
Until 1927, the village belonged to the Siyavskaya and Poretskaya volosts of the Alatyr district , until 1924 it was a volost center. From 1927 to 1962 was part of the Poretsky district. Then transferred to the Shumerlinsky district, in 1965 returned to the Poretsky district [2] [4] .

Current State
In the village there are a school, a general practitioner’s office, a library, a club, a liaison office [2] . In 2011, the Church of the Savior of the Hands without Creeds was re-consecrated and reopened, an object of cultural heritage (built in 1825).
