Brachypelma vagans (lat.) - a species of tarantulas from the genus Brachypelma, known as the Mexican red - haired tarantula . The habitat is tropical rain forests of Central America - Mexico , Guatemala , Belize , El Salvador . Ground digging spiders. The name received because of the hair color on the abdomen . In 1996 was discovered in St. Lucie, Florida. Considered to be at risk of extinction [1] .

Description
An adult individual reaches 6-7 cm in size and up to 16 cm in span of its paws. Sexual maturity in females occurs in 2–3 years, and in males in 1.5–2 years. A cocoon contains 600–1200 eggs [2] . The lifespan of female Brachypelma vagans reaches 20 years. Spider venom is not dangerous to human life, with the danger of throwing hair from the abdomen, causing an allergic reaction [3] .
Power
They feed on crickets , cockroaches of various species (the most famous are the marble cockroach and Blaberus craniifer ), zofobasa larvae and mealworms . Adult spiders can be fed Madagascar cockroaches , small frogs and small mice .
Contents
Spiders of this species require humidity of 70-80% and a temperature of 24-26 degrees [4] . Adult individuals need a drinking bowl, for adolescents it is enough to spray the substrate once every 2-3 days.
