Grigory Abramovich Batkis (January 10, 1895, Balta - June 16, 1960, Moscow ) - Soviet public health organizer, specialist in social hygiene and sanitary statistics, doctor of medical sciences, professor, corresponding member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (1945).

Biography
Born in the family of a doctor. In 1919 he graduated from the medical faculty of Kiev University . In the same year he became a member of the CPSU and participated in the civil war, in the organization of health care in Ukraine.
From 1923 to 1930, Batkis worked in the departments of social hygiene of the Second and First Moscow State University . Since 1931 he headed the Department of Social Hygiene and Health Organization of the Second MMI. N.I. Pirogov .
In 1944-1950 Batkis was deputy chairman, and since 1958 the chairman of the Central Sanitary and Statistical Commission M3 of the USSR. From 1929 — the year he was a member of the Presidium of the All-Union Hygienic Society. He was co-editor of the second edition of the Grand Medical Encyclopedia .
He was buried at Vvedensky cemetery .
