Pekshiksola ( mar. Pekshiksola [2] ) is a village in the Medvedevsky district of Mari El of the Russian Federation . It is part of and is the administrative center of the Pekshiksolinsky rural settlement [3] .

Geography
The village is located 7 km north-west of the administrative center of the district - the village of Medvedevo .
History
It is mentioned in 1877 as a settlement of Pekshik with 24 yards, in 1886 - as a small settlement of Pekshiksol with 28 yards [4] [5] .
In 1909, a zemstvo elementary school was opened in the village. In 1919, with the advent of Soviet power, the school became known as the Pekshiksolinskaya Soviet first-level school [5] . In 1937, the school was renamed Pekshiksolin primary school [4] .
In 1928, the collective farm “13th Anniversary” was organized in the village, and since 1936 - “13 years of the October Revolution” [5] .
In the 1980s, the village received a new development, multi-storey buildings, a cottage community "Youth", a house of veterans, a shop and a dining room were built [5] .

According to the data for 2014, out of 801 residents, 648 are Mari , 123 are Russians , 30 are others [1] .
Current situation
In the village there is Pekshiksolinskaya basic comprehensive school (with a preschool group), a cultural and leisure center, a library with it, a shop. There is an outpatient clinic at the Medvedev Central District Hospital. The village houses the administration of the Pekshiksolinsky rural settlement [1] .
The housing stock is represented by 117 individual and 16 apartment buildings, provided with centralized water supply. Apartment buildings have a centralized drainage system. The village is gasified. The layout of the village has several streets [1] .
In the center of Pekshiksola there is a monument of Military Glory to the soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War [5] [10] .
