Content
Biography
Born in a Yakut peasant family. He graduated from elementary school [1] .
Since 1939 he worked on the farm to them. V.I. Lenin (Megino-Kangalassky district). In 1940 he graduated from accounting courses. In 1941-1942 he served in the Red Army . Since 1942, he was at the accounting and accounting work on the collective farm, worked in the district office of the State Bank [1] .
In 1948, he headed the team of gardeners of the collective farm named after V.I. Lenin. Created new stable and high-yielding varieties of vegetables suitable for the climatic conditions of Yakutia; Introduced a method of hardening seeds. By crossing the varieties “Spartak” and “Bison”, he cultivated the tomato variety “Hybrid Haptagai”, yielding a yield of 224 to 394 centners per hectare [1] .
In 1953 he joined the Communist Party . He was elected a member of the Yakutsk regional party committee, a deputy of the district and local Councils of Workers' Deputies [1] .
Rewards
- Sickle and Hammer of the Hero of Socialist Labor medal and the Order of Lenin (October 1, 1957) - for outstanding production achievements and a great contribution to the development and implementation of new progressive labor methods in industry and agriculture of the Yakut ASSR
- Order of the Badge of Honor (04/30/1966)
- Gold and silver medals of VDNH [1] .
Memory
In the village of Haptagai, G. S. Samsonov was erected a monument [1] .
