They are located in the valley of the Goryachy stream at the foot of the northern slope of the Nepigallen hill near the village of Uelen . They belong to the territory of the Chukotka region of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug of Russia .
Sources are several self-flowing wells in the fault zone, where a through talik passes. Thermal water outlets are low-power, free gas is sporadically released from them. The water temperature ranges from 36 ° to 69 °. They are highly mineralized sources with a salt content of up to 20 g / l. According to the chemical composition of water, calcium chloride-sodium
The flow rate of the sources is 5 l / s, the heat transfer is 350 Kcal / s (1.4 MW), the base temperature (deep temperatures of hydrothermal formation) is 80–160 ° С.
Chemical composition of waters (mg / l): pH 7.83; Na 5000, K 200, Ca 1683, Mg 2, Li 14.4 [2] .
For the first time, sources were examined during geological surveying in 1956 [3] .
According to the General Plan of the Uelen village, it is possible to use the Dezhnevsky term for heating the housing stock [4] .
