The administrative center is the village of Bolshaya Sosnova .
Geography
Located in the western part of the region . The territory of the district is 2220 kmยฒ.
- Natural resources
The relief of the district is one of the most dissected in the region. The density of the gully-beam network is 1.5-1.7 km per 1 kmยฒ of territory. The region is characterized by an extensive network of logs that have different slope steepness, width and depth, afforestation and sodding.
The Siva River with its main tributaries, Sosnovka and Chernaya, is the main waterway of the region. Its length within the region is 130 km. The Black, Sosnovka, Sixth, Spawning, Butut, Lyp and other rivers have well-defined floodplains. The riverbeds meander strongly, cutting the floodplains into separate sections, forming elders . The rational use of water resources in the region is associated with the restoration of mills , dams , a ban on plowing a floodplain under the water edge in rivers.
Coniferous species prevail in the composition of the forests, a lot of linden , elm , maple , oak , and hazel are found . The average afforestation of 32% is one of the smallest in the region.
The animal world is characterized by some specificity associated with the peculiarity of the territory. Rodents are found in large numbers in the fields and near villages, and in smaller numbers in forests. Moose and many wolves have become common. Near fields, meadows, villages ermine , weasel are common. The fauna of birds is richly represented - pine forest , etc.
History
The Bolshesosnovsky district was formed on March 18, 1924 .
In 1963, the area was abolished. The territory of the Chernivtsi zone went to Chastinsky, Bolshesosnovskaya - to Ochersky districts.
On December 13, 1968, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the Bolshesosnovsky district was re-formed with its center in the village of Bolshaya Sosnova [4]

An assessment of the demographic potential showed (2002) that labor resources in the region make up 49.7% of the total population. 8612 people were employed in the sectors of the national economy, of which 61% (5215 people) - in agriculture, 792 people. in public education, 467 people - in trade, 373 people. - in healthcare.
98% of the population is employed in the public sector. The population is relatively stable. There is a need for accountants and highly qualified economists, surgeons, nursing staff, and teachers in the area. Scarce workers are masons, carpenters, gas welders, electricians.

According to the 2010 census: Russians - 93.5%; Udmurts - 1.7%; Tatars - 1.1%; Komi-Permyaks - 0.8%.

- Abolished settlements
According to the directory "Administrative and territorial division of the Perm region" for 1981 in the territory of the Bolshesosnovsky district there were only 78 settlements.
Over the past 30 years, 96 villages have disappeared in the area.
On April 7, 2008, the village of Kukushkino was abolished as virtually ceased to exist and excluded from the credentials [23] .
On December 7, 2011, the village of Kamenka , which was part of the Levinsky rural settlement , was practically abolished [24]
Economics
More than four fifths of the regionโs GNP is provided by agriculture (81.0%). Next comes the non-manufacturing sector (10.7%), industry (5.0%) and other sectors of material production (3.4%). Agriculture has a meat and dairy-grain direction, quite a lot of potatoes are grown.
There are more than twenty large collective farms in the district, as well as other enterprises based on private and collective shared ownership, and more than one hundred farms.
The industry is represented by small enterprises related to servicing agriculture, capital, road, housing construction and repair, 2 dairy plants (the village of Chernovskoye, the village of B. Sosnova), a mobile mechanical convoy, etc.
A major role in the development of the regionโs economy is played by road transport, the B. Sosnova - Perm highway and the road to Izhevsk, which is a few kilometers from B. Sosnovy.
Ecology
Although the Bolshesosnovsky district is not industrial, there is a rapidly growing number of landfills (more than ten around the district center). On the territory of the district created Bolshesosnovsky reserve (area of โโ30,000 hectares). In general, the ecological situation in the region does not cause much concern at present. Partially preserved century-old forest plantations along the Izhevsk - Perm road.
