Biography
Born on June 15, 1944 in Sidorovtsi (now in the Volozhin district of the Minsk region ) [1] .
From 1962 he worked as a driver of refrigeration units at the Brest Dairy, then Gomel Meat Processing Plant [2] . Simultaneously, in 1972, he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Technology as a mechanical engineer [2] [3] .
From 1968 - on the Komsomol work in Gomel : the first secretary of the Novobelitsky district committee , from 1979 - the second secretary of the Gomel city committee, then the second, the first secretary of the Gomel regional committee of the Komsomol [2] . At the same time in 1980 he graduated from the graduate school of the Academy of Social Sciences under the CPSU Central Committee , Candidate of Economic Sciences (1982) [1] [2] [3] . In 1982-1983 - Secretary of the Gomel Regional Council [2] .
Since 1983 - in party and state positions in Gomel: Chairman of the Soviet District Executive Committee, since 1985 - First Secretary of the Soviet District Party Committee, since 1989 - Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, in 1990-1993 - Chairman of the trade union association of the Gomel region [2] . Lectured at the University of Gomel [2] .
Since April 15, 1993 - Ambassador of Belarus in Latvia [4] , since 1994 - also in Finland. Since September 10, 1997 - Minister for CIS Affairs [5] [6] , in 1999–2001 - First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus [2] .
From June 15, 2001 to June 13, 2016 - Ambassador of Belarus to Ukraine [2] [7] [8] .

- Diploma of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus (8.6.2004) - for active and fruitful work on the implementation of the foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus, the development of international cooperation and strengthening the authority of the state in the international arena and in connection with the 60th anniversary of the birth [9]
