P243 (road)

Until the early 1990s, the P-243 road was the Kazan-Naberezhnye Chelny-Ufa road.

On January 1, 2016, the road became federal. In 2017, the Kostroma section of the route was planned to be repaired within three years for 1 billion rubles ^[3] . By 2018, the regulatory and operational condition of the route was estimated at 30.9%. It is planned to bring the track level to the normative due to funds from the Plato system by 2020 ^[4] .

In 2018, major repairs are carried out from Kostroma, as well as repairs to the bridge over the Volga in Kostroma (truck traffic on the bridge is possible from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am). From Kostroma to Sharya, the asphalt is in poor condition. The average speed of movement on the site Kostroma-Sharya is 35-55 km per hour. There is a better road from Sharya to Perm, but bad asphalt is also encountered.
