The women's 1,500m final was held on March 19, 2016. From the very start, an attempt to escape from rivals was made by Australian Melissa Duncan . Her advantage over the main group reached 10 meters, but 4 laps before the finish was nullified by the efforts of Sifan Hassan . The representative of the Netherlands gradually increased speed in the second half of the race, so on the last lap among her rivals there were only two Ethiopians Davit Seyaum and Gudaf Tsegay . At the final meters, Hassan did not allow the Africans to come forward and won the gold of the indoor indoor championship [2] .
