Fleet Master Chief Petty Officer ( FLTCM ) is one of the highest military ranks of petty officers in the U.S. Navy .
In the United States Navy, this rank belongs to the ninth level of the military hierarchy (E-9), along with military ranks as master chief petty officer , master chief chief petty officer and chief master chief petty officer . The subordinate rank is Senior Chief Petty Officer .
Insignia
The insignia of the master chief-petty officer of the fleet is a sleeve patch with an eagle placed above three ribbon-chevrons, the corners of the upper chevron are connected by a ribbon-bow. Above the eagle with spread wings, two golden stars are placed at the corners of the patch with the tip pointed down. In contrast to the insignia of the chief master of the chief petty officer on the sleeve patch, the master of the chief petty officer of the fleet uses gold stars instead of silver stars. On a dark blue ( black ) form, the eagle is white , and the stars and chevrons are golden .
