Volumina legum ) - a multivolume code of laws, Sejm decrees, privileges and other legislative acts that were in force in Poland , Belarus , Lithuania and the right-bank Ukraine from 1347 to 1793 - 1795 . Private publication of the Jesuit Order , organized with the support of Yu. Zalussky and S. Konarsky . Intended for the practical orientation of lawyers, judges, politicians, etc. in the legislative material. It was published in Polish and Latin with headings, without comment, at the end of the volumes a register of constitutions and privileges for the corresponding period is attached.

For the first time vol. I-VI (acts 1347-1736) were published in Warsaw in 1732 - 1739 , vols. VII-VIII (acts 1764-1780) - in 1782 . Volume IX (acts 1782-1792) was published in Krakow in 1889, and Volume X in 1952 in Poznan (with materials from the Grodno Seimas 1793 ). Until 1526, some seismic materials were included in the publication of O. Bolzar "Code of Laws of Poland". The latest re-release of Volumina Legum began in the 1970s in Warsaw. The subject-related indexes (inventories) for the Volumina Legum “Konstytucye koronne y Wielkiego Xiestwa Litewskiego od roku panskiego 1550 do roku 1683” was prepared and published in Warsaw in 1685 by the Secretary of the Crown Office M. Ladowski. In 1754 and 1782 , additional editions of inventories prepared by A. Zhaglitsky and T. Wag came out.

Volumina Legum is an unofficial publication and is not a complete collection of laws. The acts placed in it are taken from original sources and from the works of individual authors. To study the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania , acts related to the activities of government bodies and authorities are of considerable value; they reflect political and socio-economic relations, such as: privilege for merchants of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (1424); privilege of Podlaskie land (1569); constitution of the Lublin Sejm (1569); general confirmation of all privileges of Poland ON (1576); “Affairs ON” (1590); separate constitutions of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (began to be published from the beginning of the 17th century ), where decisions of the Sejm on various issues were approved (approbation of international treaties and treaties of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, appointment of commissioners, organization of judicial institutions, taxes, customs duties, repair of roads, bridges, clearing of channels, etc. ) A lot of specific information on political, economic and administrative affairs of Belarus: confirmation of the separation of the Belarusian possessions of the princes Radziwill (1589), determination of the borders of Polotsk (1590), Podljashsky and Brest (1598, 1607) voivodships, permission to organize a fair in Minsk (1601), list of gentry of Vitebsk, Novogrudok, Polotsk voivodships.
