Julius Petrovich Ulrichs ( German: Ulrichs ; 1773 - 1836 ) - historian, full professor and dean of the department of verbal sciences at Moscow University , state adviser .

Biography
Born in 1773 in Braunschweig [1] .
In 1807 he was appointed lecturer for teaching German language and literature at Moscow University (since 1811 - adjunct); extraordinary professor since 1817), ordinary professor since 1823. He lectured on the history of European countries, German literature and conducted translations from Russian into German.
Upon joining the Department of World History in 1823 (he took a course from Professor N. E. Cherepanov ), he gave a lecture “On the Nature, Representation, and Purpose of History”. I taught the course of universal history, devoting one year to reading ancient and medieval history, and the next academic year I read "the history of the last three centuries (1492-1815)" [2] . At the same time, he taught a course of statistics on the “most important” European states, as well as geography.
Dean of the Department of Verbal Sciences of Moscow University in 1832–1833 [1] . He was also a censor .
Along with teaching at Moscow University for seven years, he served as a teacher at the Commercial School .
He was also a teacher of the encyclopedia and inspector (after the adoption of Russian citizenship) of the Moscow educational house . He was awarded several diamond rings and badges of the orders of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree and St. Anna of the 2nd degree. In 1827, he served as class inspector of the Alexander and Catherine schools and, for the difference in these positions, was promoted to state councilors . In 1831 he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree. Since 1832 - current state councilor ; in the same year he filed a letter of resignation.
Full member of the Moscow Society of Russian History and Antiquities since 1828.
His son - Fedor Yulievich Ulrichs (1808-1878).
