Design

Station deep . It has three underground halls - the middle and two halls with landing platforms. The halls of the station are interconnected by rows of aisles-portals, alternating with pylons. The middle hall is connected via an escalator tunnel with a three-band single-march escalator to the underground lobby, which goes into the underground passage under Leo Tolstoy Square. There is no ground lobby.

Design

The image of the station, dedicated to the work of the great writer Leo Tolstoy , was made restrained, but expressively, with maximum use of the underground space. Instead of emphasizing the individual elements, the emphasis was on the plasticity of the entire structure and on the emotional impression of the finishing materials.

Lining with white marble pylons repeats the line of construction, which is emphasized by a closed tape of aluminum anodized under bronze. The floor is made up of red granite. Sconces and lamps, stylized as candlesticks, create the atmosphere of the first ball of Natasha Rostova. Few people know, but the end part, covered with a grill, was highlighted in red.

Transplants

The Lev Tolstoy Square station is connected to the Sports Palace station by an escalator tunnel with a four-band single-march escalator.
