Janssen, David

David Janssen ( born David Janssen ; 1931-1980) is an American film and television actor. It gained popularity due to the role of Dr. Kimble in the TV series "The Fugitive ", which went on American television from 1963 to 1967.

Biography

Born March 27, 1931 in Naponi, Nebraska under the name David Harold Meyer in the Irish-Jewish [1] family of banker Harold Edward Meyer (May 12, 1906 - November 4, 1990) and. Bernice Graf (May 11, 1910 - November 26, 1995).

After his parents divorced in 1935, David and his mother moved to Los Angeles, California. Five years later, her mother married Eugene Janssen (February 18, 1918 - March 30, 1996). The actor used the name of his stepfather as a pseudonym when he took up a career in show business.

Janssen was married twice. His first marriage was with interior designer and interior decorator Ellie Graham, whom he married in Las Vegas on August 25, 1958 [2] . They divorced in 1968 [3] . In 1975, he married actress and model Dani Crane (born 1934). They remained married until David died of a heart attack in February 1980 [4] .

Awards and nominations

Janssen winner of the Golden Globe Award (1966). He was also twice nominated for the award in 1961 and 1965 [5] [6] . On the account of the actor are three nominations for the Emmy Award (1964, 1966, 1967).

In 1995, the TV Guide included Janssen in the top 50 greatest television stars of all time at number 36 [7] .
