Biography and Creativity
Born in a military family. In 1966, his family moved to Albuquerque [2] . It was there that he lived most of his life [1] . He was fond of sports, surfing and tennis [4] . After leaving school, he entered the Academy of Fine Arts in San Francisco, where he studied for a year, and then moved to the California College of Arts and Crafts (now en: California College of the Arts ), which he graduated in the 1960s with a bachelor of fine arts. The 1960s had a great influence on him.
Shortly before his death, he was diagnosed with cancer [1] .
Originally worked with a pencil and oil paints. He wrote last 15 years, however, due to the allergy that appeared in them in the 1980s, he was forced to turn to watercolors. It was with watercolors that he wrote those works that brought him worldwide fame [2] [5] . He paid much attention to detail and color, which made his paintings very realistic.
His works are included in many private and public collections.
He was awarded the National Society of Watercolors (1991) and the Gold Medal of the National Academy of Western Art (1992). He was also the winner of many other professional awards [3] . Since 1993, he was among the ten American masters according to the version of US Art Magazine [2] .
He was married to Laura Hanks, the couple had three children [1] .
Passed away in April 2015 from cardiac arrest [1] .
