The 2004 Canadian Men's Curling Championship ( English 2004 Nokia Brier ) was held in Saskatoon ( Saskatchewan ) from March 6 to March 14, 2004 . [1] The tournament was held for the 75th time. In Saskatchewan, the championship was held for the 8th time, in Saskatoon - for the 5th time.

The winner received the right to represent Canada (as the “Team of Canada”; English Team Canada ) at the 2004 World Cup , which was held in April 2004 in Gävle ( Sweden ).
The tournament was attended by 12 teams representing the provinces and territories of Canada .
The champion representing the province of Nova Scotia became the champion (the 3rd time in the history of the championships) (this was the 1st victory for the team of the Skip Mark Daisy ), who won in the final against the team representing the province of Alberta (Skip Randy Ferby ).
This was the last championship in the name of which the name Nokia is indicated as the title sponsor . From the next championship , the title indicated a new title sponsor - Tim Hortons Inc. [2]
Content
Competition Format
At the first, group stage, the teams play among themselves in a circular system in one circle. The four best teams of the group stage go to the second stage, playoffs , where they play according to the Page system : the two best teams according to the results of the group round hold a match for a direct hit in the finals (playoffs-1). The 3rd and 4th teams play for reaching the semifinals (playoffs-2). In the semifinals, there is a loser in the first match and a winner in the second. In the finals, gold awards are disputed by the winners of the playoffs and semifinals. Match for 3rd place is not held.
