Geography

The village is located on the banks of the Nerekhta River (a tributary of the Klyazma ) opposite the village of Krutovo , 16 km south from the center of the settlement of the village of Novy , 18 km south from the district center of Kovrov and 3 km from the Volga federal highway M7 .

History

The foundation of the village dates back to the beginning of the 18th century. At this time, the landowner Pavel Stepanovich Yazykov settled here several peasant families from his other estates, and the village of Maryino was formed. In the newly settled village of Languages in 1715 he built a church in honor of the Praise of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A decree from the patriarchal government order on the construction of the church was given in August 14, 1714, and a decree on the consecration of the church in 1715 on October 6. In the middle of the 18th century, Maryino was sold to the local nobles Vladykin, behind whom the village of Krutovo was already listed. The wooden church built by Yazykov lasted in the village until the end of the 18th century. In 1791, with the blessing of Bishop Victor, the zeal of the parishioners began the construction of a stone church with the same bell tower. A warm chapel in the church was built in 1797 and consecrated in the name of the holy prophet Elijah, and the cold church was completed in 1802 and consecrated in its former name - in honor of the Praise of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Since 1879, there was a parish school in the village and had its own building, built by the merchant Ivan Treumov [2] .

In the late XIX - early XX centuries, the village was part of the Velikov volost of the Kovrov district .

During the years of Soviet Power and up to 2005, the village was part of the Krutovsky Village Council (since 1998 - the rural district).
