Biography

Tom Willard was born in Hawaii in 1953 and grew up in the village of Spencerport near New York.

Parents - photo engineer Ron Willard and teacher Diane Ruth. He also had a sister, Susan and twin brothers Timothy and Terry.

He graduated from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania . In the early 1970s, he moved to New York, where he studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute . In 1980, Willard traveled to Los Angeles to act in films and play in the theater.

Career

From 1983 to 1984, Willard played a major role in the American sitcom " We Did It, " aired on NBC .

Personal life

Tom Willard is gay. He admitted this near the end of his life. He was in a relationship with Scott Chambliss. [one]

Sickness and death

In February 1994, at the Entertainment Tonight, the actor announced that he was gay and had AIDS , and that he needed help. According to POZ magazine, after 13 million viewers found out about his orientation and illness, almost everyone turned his back on him.

November 14, 1994 Tom Willard died of pneumonia , not having lived five days before his 41st birthday. [2]
